Who doesn’t like eating Chocolate fudge cake! It is super moist, rich and very yummy in taste. But baking it from scratch can be a bit hectic. Thanks to ready made cake mixes available in the market, one can easily bake a cake. One such brand I came across is Betty Crocker. I have tried their multiple products and no doubt their products taste amazing.

Recently I tried their choco fudge cake and it tasted amazing. I thought of sharing it with you guys.

The product comes in a small round container. The shade is clearly visible from outside. Easy to carry. Travel-friendly. Light-weight. No mirror and applicator is provided.

Ingredients:

Blush it off! Blend and build to your heart’s content with Faces Canada Perfect Blush. Easy-to-apply with a silky smooth texture that feels super light and lasts long. A dermatologically tested blush which extends excellent shading and the light shimmering color renders the cheeks with a natural-looking glow. Features: Light shimmering color gives the cheeks a natural looking glow. New sericite extends excellent blending and velvety touch. Silky smooth texture feels super light and lasts long. Silicons extend creaminess and adherence. Blends effortlessly on the skin. Comes with an easy to apply blush. Free from D5, silicon, parabens, lanolin, mineral oil. This product is dermatologically tested.

Description & Swatches:

This blush is peach in color with very tiny shimmers. Shimmers are not very noticeable but it gives a nice sheen on the cheeks.

The texture of the blush is super smooth.

The application of the blush is good. It can be easily blended. The color looks good on all skin types but it will look more appealing on fairer skin tones. It is a little chalky.

Staying power is also good. It can stay for around 6-7 hours in cold weather and if set with a good setting spray. In hot and humid weather, staying power is less specially when you sweat a lot on your face.

It can be easily removed with a makeup remover or even coconut oil.

Pros:

Affordable. Smooth texture. Good formulation. Staying power is good. Easily blends. Paraben free.

Cons:

A little chalky. No applicator and mirror is provided.

A Day In My Life #2

1. What keeps you motivated to keep going during lockdown phase?

I try to stay productive as much as I can. I dedicate one hour for workout which is also the most important part of my day. Apart from this, I study, help in household chores, watch movies, play with my stray dogs.

2. How do you spend your ideal day ?

Getting up early in the morning. Having a healthy breakfast. Then going for a walk followed by workout. Studying. Limiting the use of social media and spending time in my backyard.

3. What would you want your legacy to be ?

Not any of the materialistic things but putting small efforts in making Earth a better place to live for our future generations.

4. 2 unknown facts about yourself ?

A. Whenever I type something, I murmur the exact words I type and sometimes the person sitting next to me hear my conversation.

B. I love stray dogs unconditionally.

5. How many books you read in a year ? Which genre ?

I can’t say how many but I like to read fiction, autobiographies and real life stories of not so famous people.

6. Best books you read this year ?

Chandrakanta Santati. It is a Hindi novel comprising of six books written by Devaki Nandan Khatri.

Doing something creative which I would love to do for the rest of my life.

I have made small changes in my lifestyle. I do not use AC the whole day and night. I only switch on the AC at night and that too for limited time. I have stopped buying unnecessary products. Earlier I used to buy random products for reviewing on my blog which I didn’t end up using. This is the reason why you guys don’t see many product reviews. There are many things which I do to contribute in saving our natural surroundings. I might do a separate post for this.

Pride Month Inspired Painting

DIY PEN STAND|EASY DIY

Hey guys!

How are you all?

In today’s post, I am going to share a very easy diy pen stand. I have an empty chips container lying around. So I thought of using it as a pen stand. For further details, please keep on reading till the end.

Material Required:

Any empty container

Gift paper

Glue

Scissors

Acrylic colors

Painting brush

Procedure for making:

Using a ruler and a pencil, measure the length of gift paper according to the size of container.

Cut the gift paper neatly.

Apply glue on the gift paper as well as on the empty container.

Paste the gift paper on the container.

Take colors of your choice. I want pink color on the lining of the container. So I am mixing red and white color to get pink color.

Paint the lining of the container.

That’s it!!! Very easy DIY PEN STAND is ready.

Lunar Eclipse|Strawberry Moon Eclipse 2020

Hey guys!

How are you all?

In India, we witnessed lunar eclipse yesterday night. It started at 11.15 PM and ended at 2.34 AM. The eclipse was at its peak at 12.54 AM.

Right from my childhood, I get fascinated by eclipses. I remember a major solar eclipse in my childhood. We used CDs and water to get a glimpse of it. You know we can’t see solar eclipse with naked eyes.

I strictly follow early to bed early to rise rule in my life. But yesterday night I waited till 11.15 PM just to watch lunar eclipse. My brother and I clicked a lot of pictures. We waited for the peak time i.e. 12:54 AM. It was indeed beautiful.

5 Ways To Stay Healthy While Stuck At Home

How are you all doing?

We all are stuck at home because of COVID-19. It is important to focus on our physical and mental health in these tough times. In this post, I will be sharing five ways to stay healthy while stuck at home.

1. MAKE A TO-DO LIST: It is very important to stay organised and productive. I will advise that you should make a to-do list in the morning everyday and tick off all the completed tasks by the end of the day. It will not only keep you updated about all the things that you need to do but also keep you disciplined.

2. LIMIT THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA: Social media can be unhealthy for your growth as an individual. For example if you spend long hours on your favorite social media platform doing nothing it will affect your health in the long run. Limit the use of social media according to your daily routine. Write in your diary that you will not spend more than say 1 hour on social media.

3. STOP COMPARING: It is very easy to get distracted from others. But do not compare yourself from others. Comparison is the evil and your biggest enemy. At some point in our lives, we start comparing ourselves with others. For example he/she has 1 million followers, why can’t I have! Or she is a fashionista buying all the luxury products! Please do not COMPARE. We disrespect ourselves by comparing and want to fit in a certain image which we think is socially more acceptable. STOP COMPARING because you are special in your own way.

4. EARLY TO BED EARLY TO RISE: You must have heard this old proverb EARLY TO BED EARLY TO RISE MAKES A MAN HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND WISE. It is absolutely true. If you sleep early then you will automatically wake up early in the morning. Waking up early has many health benefits. You will feel energetic and relaxed the whole day. Plus you will have extra time for other activities.

5. FOLLOW A HEALTHY DIET: It is very important to follow a healthy diet plan. While we are stuck at home, we binge eat many times a day which is not good for health. You can incorporate small changes in your diet. For example if you want to eat a packet of nachos with your favorite carbonated drink. Do not eat from the packet itself, reduce the quantity and put that in a bowl. This will also satisfy your cravings and you will not binge eat the whole packet. Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Practice mindful eating.

So guys these are my five ways to stay healthy while stuck at home. Incorporate these habits in your daily routine and you will definitely see a major change in your life.

Easy & Healthy Brownie Recipe

Hey guys!

How are you all doing?

Today I am going to share a healthy and easy beginner friendly brownie recipe with you all. It is easy to bake plus it’s a healthy option for your sugar cravings.

Ingredients:

1 cup Wheat flour

1/4 cup Peanut butter

1/2 cup Honey+unrefined powdered sugar

5 tbsp Cocoa powder/Cacao powder

100 ml Low fat milk/Almond milk

1/2 tbsp Baking powder

3 Chopped walnuts

Preparation:

Take all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Add low fat milk/almond milk.

Mix all the ingredients. There should be no lumps.

Line your baking tray with parchment paper. If you don’t have parchment paper, you can use butter & flour method. Pour the mixture in the baking tray. Top the mixture with chopped walnuts.

Bake at 200 degree Celsius in oven for 15-20 minutes.

Note:

Baking time might vary for everyone. Please check your brownie after 10 minutes.

Don’t overcook the brownie. It should remain a little gooey.

Serve after it is completely cooled.

NYX Ultimate Shadow Brights Review

In this post, I am going to review NYX Ultimate Shadow palette in the variant BRIGHTS.

Price: 1725 INR for 13.28 g of product. BUY HERE

Shelf life of 30 months.

Packaging:

The product comes in a small transparent square container. All the shades are clearly visible from outside. Lightweight. Easy to carry. Travel-friendly. But no mirror and applicator is given which I feel is a downside.

Description & Swatches:

This eye shadow palette contains a total of 16 shades. 7 are shimmery shades and rest of the shades are matte. This palette is a mix of bright shadows. Perfect palette for someone who likes experimenting with looks. I bought this one because I was lacking a colorful palette in my collection.

The texture of the eye shadow is super smooth. It glides easily on the lids. The shades can be easily blended. Good formulation.

The shades are very pigmented. Looks very pretty on the lids.

Now let’s start with the swatches. I have clicked two pictures of all the shades. One in sunlight and the other without sunlight. Here I have swatched the shadows with two or more swipes. Some shades give opaque color with only few swipes while some shades need multiple swipes for the desired color.

Starting from Right to Left in the above picture..

1. First shade is a shimmery red shade. The shimmers are of golden color but when you apply it, the shimmers are not properly visible. Pigmentation is good.

2. Second shade is a pretty fuchsia pink shade. This one is my favorite among all. You can say I bought this palette because of this one shade. This shade is proper matte. Pigmentation is great.

3. Third shade is a neon orange color. Pigmentation is not great for this one. Also this is a proper matte shade.

4. Fourth shade is a rusty orange color. Pigmentation is good. This one is a matte shade. You can also apply this as a blush.

5. Fifth shade is a shimmery violet shade with very fine golden shimmers. Pigmentation is great.

6. Sixth shade is a shimmery purple shade with very fine golden shimmers. But the shimmers are not noticeable on the eyes. Pigmentation is good.

7. Seventh shade is a rouge pink color. Pigmentation is good. Proper matte shade.

8. Eighth shade is a pretty lilac color. Proper matte shade. Pigmentation is average as it is a light color.

Starting from Right to Left in the above picture..

1. First shade is a shimmery cobalt blue shade with silver shimmers. Pigmentation is great.

2. Second shade is a pretty deep sky blue color. Pigmentation is great. Matte shade.

3. Third shade is a shimmery shade of green with silver shimmers. Pigmentation is great.

4. Fourth shade is a light sea green color. Pigmentation is average as this is a light color. Proper matte shade.

5. Fifth shade is a green shade. Pigmentation is good. Proper matte shade.

6. Sixth shade is shimmery lime green color with silver shimmers. Pigmentation is good.

7. Seventh shade is a mustard yellow color. Pigmentation is good. Proper matte shade.

8. Eighth shade is a shimmery bright yellow shade with silver shimmers. Pigmentation is good.

Staying power is very good. It can stay good for 6-7 hours. No major fallout issues. Stays on for longer time if applied with a concealer or an eye shadow base. I apply mine with concealer.

Can be easily removed with a makeup remover or even coconut oil.

Pros: Affordable. Smooth texture. Pretty shades. Good formulation. Recommended for those who like experimenting with colorful shades. Pigmentation is great. Staying power is good. Easily blendable.

Cons: No applicator and mirror provided.

Do you guys like trying different products? I just love trying new products whether it’s skincare, makeup, food, gadgets etc. My list never ends. Today’s post is going to be a review of Medimix Anti Tan Face Wash with Tanaka.

What it is?

It is a facewash from Medimix Ayurvedic named Anti Tan Face Wash with Tanaka.

Price:

60 INR for 50ml of product.

Shelf life of 11 months.

Made in INDIA.

Ingredients:

Contains extracts of:

Kapittha(Limonia acidissima) 0.02%

Kumari(Aloe barbadensis) 0.2%

Yastimadhu(Glycyrrhiza glabra) 0.01%

Karcura(Curcuma zedoaria) 0.01%

INACTIVES: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one-Q.S.

In base made from vegetable glycerine, natural oils, perfume and approved color (CL No.15985)-Q.S.

Natural herbal formulations tend to change color over time. However,the product efficacy remains unchanged.

Direction to use:

Apply a small amount of Medimix Anti Tan Face Wash on wet face and neck. Massage with your fingertips in circular motion and gently work up lather. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. To keep your face fresh and lively,use it after sun exposure daily.

For external use only. Store in a cool and dry place. No harmful chemicals. Contains no animal fat.

My Experience:

I have combination and sensitive skin. Not every face wash suits my skin. I remember trying different face washes in my teenage years and ending up getting minor bumps on my face.

This face wash comes in a classic tube packaging. Easy to take out. Travel friendly.

It has a very mild and calming fragrance which lingers on for some time. If you have used Medimix products before,you will know what kind of fragrance I’m taking about. I really like the fragrance of it.

It has a gel consistency. Not too sticky and runny. But make sure you wet your face very well before applying. It lathers up very nicely.

It instantly cleanses your face. One thing I really like about this face wash is that it doesn’t leave your face extremely dry. It provides a moisturizing effect on your face. Your skin will feel moisturized and soft. I didn’t get bumps after using being a sensitive skin type.

Pros:

SLES free. Soap free. Paraben free. Calming fragrance. Moisturizing. Affordable. Travel friendly. Contains no chemicals. Contains no animal fat.

Cons:

Can’t find any.

Makeup Revolution Luxury Baking Powder BANANA Review

Baking powder is a cosmetic product used to set and bake the face. It is finely milled and smooth in application. Today I am going to review Makeup Revolution Luxury Baking Powder in the variant Banana.

My friend got this from US. But now it’s available in India. You can find it on both online and offline stores.

INGREDIENTS:

TALC, ALUMINIUM STARCH OCTENYLSUCCINATE, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN. [MAY CONTAIN TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77492).]

CAUTION:

For adult use only. For external use only. Discontinue use if rash, redness or itching occurs.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

Makeup Revolution Luxury Baking Powder includes a total of 10 shades for all skin tones.

The shade range includes:

Translucent – for all skin tones
White – for the fairest skin tones
Banana Light – brightening for light skin tones
Banana – brightening for medium skin tones
Banana Deep – brightening for medium to dark skin tones
Lace – for medium skin tones
Beige – for warm medium skin tones
Peach – color balancing for medium to dark skin tones
Orange – color balancing to dark skin tones

SHADE: I got the shade BANANA.

DESCRIPTION:

The product comes in a good quality plastic container which makes it travel friendly. Within the lid, there’s a mini sieve for taking out the product. The sieve will prevent clumping of the product.

The baking powder is finely milled and very smooth in application. You can use the powder with a brush or a sponge. I apply mine with a damp sponge first and then dust off the excess with a fluffy brush. I use this powder for baking my under eye area and for sharpening my contour. It instantly changes the whole look giving a flawless finish. It doesn’t crease at all. I wore this powder for about 8-9 hours without any touch up. And being a combination skin type, the powder stayed on my face really well.

The powder can be used in a variety of ways. You can set your face after applying foundation as a setting powder. It’ll mattify your makeup and will last you for a long time. You can brighten your under eye area if you have dark circles. You can bake your face with this powder. You can sharpen your contour for a more chiseled look. You can mattify your lipstick with this powder. If you have oily skin, it will prevent oil build up and will keep your makeup matte for a longer duration.

PROS:

Affordable. Cruelty free. Vegan. Travel friendly. Multipurpose. Good formulation. Matte finish. Smooth.

CONS:

Contain parabens.

A Day In My Life #1

How are you all?

I am trying out different things on my blog. So you will see different versions of ‘a day in my life’ posts. Today I’m gonna share a snippet of a day in my life.

So my day started with my usual routine. I had brunch planned with my childhood friend. We know each other since kindergarten. Isn’t it amazing knowing someone for so long! We went to a newly opened cafe near our place. The interior of the cafe was very beautifully done. I am sharing few pictures from my catch-up.

We sat there for an hour or so. We chatted about life, ate delicious food and clicked pictures.

PAC Volume Blast Mascara Review

Mascara is a cosmetic product commonly used to enhance the eyelashes. Mascara is used to darken, lengthen and intensify your eyelashes. In this post, I am going to review PAC Volume Blast Mascara.

Ingredients:

Description:

The product is packed in an outer thick cardboard packaging. All the necessary details are mentioned on the outer packaging. The product comes in a classic black body. 10/10 for the packaging. Travel friendly.

The shade of the product is intense black. Water resistant. Cruelty free.

The applicator of the product is long. One can easily use the product. Coming to the applicator, it has small wide bristles which are not too hard. Perfect for the application of mascara.

The product is not too thick nor too thin. Creamy finish. But be careful while applying multiple coats, make sure you wipe off the excess product or else it’ll clump on your lashes.

Fragrance free.

It gives a volumizing and lengthening effect on the lashes. I usually apply two coats of it. It perfectly coats and separates my lashes. I have always used Maybelline’s mascara. For the first time I bought a brand other than Maybelline and I must say it’s worth the change.

This mascara stays on for a long time without smudging. I wore it for around 8-9 hours. It stayed perfectly.

For easy removal, use a makeup remover. I remove mine with Nivea Micellar Water. I sometimes use coconut oil but makeup remover gives the best results.

Here I am sharing my picture. Left eye is without mascara while right eye is with mascara. You can clearly spot the difference between the two.

Below is my picture with mascara on both lashes.

Pros:

Affordable. Water-resistant. Volumizing. Cruelty free. Lengthening. SLS free. Sulphate free. Travel friendly.

Cons:

Not easily removable.

Christmas Celebration 2019

Canvas Painting|My First Attempt

Hey guys!

How are you all doing?

Pablo Picasso said…”Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”

In this post, I will be sharing my first attempt drawing on a canvas. It may sound a little odd for most of you but I have never tried canvas before. So, I bought a bunch of supplies from my local market. Drawing was something I always wanted to learn. I am not saying I am very good at it but I love trying. There are more than a dozen unfinished diy projects lying in my room while I am writing this post. #lazysoul 😀
